How much does an adjustment cost?
Prices vary depending on the animal. Please use the Contact form to inquire about your specific animal.
Is there a travel fee?
Yes. Within 10 miles of Carmichael road and highway 94 in Hudson, Wisconsin, there is no travel fee. After that first 10 miles it is $1 per mile. If there are at least 3 animals being adjusted at one location and you live within 30 miles, I will waive the travel fee. Invite your friends to save money! Additionally, I do see small animals out of select locations in and around Oakdale, MN. When you bring your pet to me there is no travel fee.
Are you available for travel if I'm not super close or would like you at an event?
Yes! I have had multiple people reach out to me about coming to their office and/or competitions to provide services for their animals, their clients or coworkers animals, or provide care for other animals at an event. I simply ask for a minimum number of patients and pre-signed veterinary referral forms. Travel fees can be discussed depending on location. Please fill out the Schedule an Adjustment form to inquire!
What should I expect at my first appointment?
Each animal is a little different, but in general I will spend time talking to you about your animal's history, symptoms, any medical conditions, and if necessary, I will perform a neurological evaluation. If your animal has never been adjusted before (or hasn't been adjusted by me) I will spend extra time allowing your pet to get to know me, the adjusting bales (if necessary), and time to adapt to each adjustment made. After the adjustment I will share with you my findings, recommendations, and what I recommend for follow-up care. If you'd like, I can also send you my notes from our visit which will show what specifically was adjusted.
How long will it take to notice changes?
Every animal is different. When your animal is symptomatic, you may notice changes immediately or within the next few days. If it's a chronic and ongoing issue, it may take longer to respond. If your animal has no symptoms, you may not notice physical changes but your animal may be happier, playing more, sleeping better, recovering better, and feeling better!
Can I ride my horse after they're adjusted?
In most cases, a light ride is great! Imagine you get a massage or adjustment. You don't want to sit on the couch for the rest of the day. You want your body to learn and adapt to the changes.
How often should my animals be adjusted?
This question varies from animal to animal depending on multiple factors including their age, breed, lifestyle, and other medical concerns. Initially, I may recommend your pet see me for a follow up visit within the first 7-14 days if it was their first adjustment. This helps me determine how well they hold their adjustments, and helps me to determine the best care plan moving forward. If an animal is more in a wellness and maintenance phase, I recommend most animals be checked every 4-12 weeks to maintain optimal health.
Can you replace my veterinarian as my animals primary care provider?
No, animal chiropractors are not able to replace veterinarians. Animal chiropractors do not dispense medications, perform surgeries, or replace traditional veterinary care. Chiropractic can help prevent health problems in animals, but it is not intended to prevent medical intervention. Underlying pathologies should be ruled out prior to receiving chiropractic care.
Are veterinary referrals required?
Minnesota law states that I obtain a veterinary referral prior to providing care. In Wisconsin I usually recommend a veterinary referral but it is not required. If a veterinarian referral is needed, I will obtain this for you free of charge.
